Kadoya

Goma To, a cafe by KADOYA which opened in Jiyugaoka, Tokyo. Kadoya is a long established sesame oil company, and we were commissioned for the total branding and art pieces for this new cafe.

It is not well known how sesame grows and its uniqueness as a plant. We expressed the pods, fruit, and leaves of sesame plant in abstract illustrations. For the logo we used the characteristic triangular roof shape from Kadoya’s original logo, and combined it with the modern typeface, showing a unique combination of tradition and modernity.
